With a subscription, you’ll be able to stream your favorite games from your computer to your console. The service is currently available in the US and Canada, and is expected to roll out to additional regions in the coming months.

One of the best things about owning an Xbox One X is the ability to play your favourite PlayStation titles in all their 4K glory. However, the process of using an Xbox One X with a PlayStation 4 console can be a bit cumbersome. That’s where DuckStation comes in. This new standalone device lets you play your old PlayStation games with the aid of an Xbox One X. All you have to do is plug the device into the back of your Xbox One X and download the free DuckStation app. Once you’re done, you can start playing your favourite PlayStation classics such as God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted and many more.

Despite its odd moniker, the DuckStation is a new PlayStation emulator that has attracted a large number of users since its release late last year, owing to its speed and compatibility, even with low-end machines. A recent release of a version of the emulator for Microsoft’s next-generation consoles has drew even more attention to the project.
DuckStation is now available for usage on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, as seen in a new video by Modern Vintage Gamer. Naturally, it enables Xbox users to play games that were previously only available on Sony gear, but the true irony is how much better the games appear when played on Microsoft hardware due to DuckStation’s emulation settings.
These include the capacity to run PlayStation games at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second for certain titles—far beyond the creators’ original, archaic requirements. While such choices may increase the risk of graphical glitches and other strangeness, DuckStation seems to handle current resolutions and frame speeds very well.
This is shown in a video by Modern Vintage Gamer, which displays old games like Gran Turismo, Tekken 2, and Metal Gear Solid operating smoothly and looking better than ever. DuckStation is a UWP software that can be downloaded from GitHub and installed on Xbox Series X|S consoles after activating developer mode.

Since the launch of the Xbox One X, Microsoft has been proud of its backward compatibility program with the company’s original Xbox games. While the program largely failed to deliver on its promised full gaming library (a meager 25 titles that included a handful of titles that consumers already owned), the company has been testing out a new concept—DuckStation. The concept is still in its early development stages, but the company’s representatives have already confirmed that the program will provide Xbox One owners the ability to play their favorite PlayStation games in 4K, at 60fps..
