No more heroes were announced during E3 2019, and fans have been eagerly awaiting new information and trailers from creator/director Suda51 ever since. During the Nintendo Direct, a new action-packed trailer was released ahead of the game’s release dates, filled with even crazier and more original antics than ever before, including a hilarious Final Fantasy VII-style battle and a first-person horror segment. It’s an action game worth exploring, whether you’re an old veteran of the series or a newcomer to the franchise.

The last Mario Golf game, Mario Golf World Tour, released on the 3DS in 2014, was a great golf game with solid mechanics and well-designed courses. Judging by the trailer for its initial release today, the latest installment in the Mario Sports series is promising. The fields are beautiful and expansive, there’s a wide variety of characters with their own strengths, and the strategic depth provided by the wind and terrain is always at the forefront. And not only do the controls look sharp and responsive, there are even two options: the traditional button layout and motion control with the Joy-Con. Mii-based Story mode is back, as is the all-new Speed mode, so players will have plenty to do.

It’s a franchise that has been catapulted to the stratosphere of popularity and for good reason: Splatoon is an excellent third-person shooter that avoids the usual pitfalls of many such titles. Instead of darker graphics and more realistic weapons, Nintendo has opted for much more unique weapons and ink mechanisms, as well as beautifully colored graphics and eye-catching design. Splatoon 3 continues this tradition, but turns the field into a desert, which seems to broaden the exploration area for players from all over the world.

Fresh news on the success of JRPG Octopath Traveler, a new 2D HD series title from the same creative team. Project Triangle Strategy, which sounds like a working title, combines absolutely stunning graphics with rich turn-based tactical strategy gameplay that immediately reminds you of Final Fantasy Tactics – a great combination. And just like Octopath Traveler, this game allows players to choose their hero and explore their unique story. Even better, the free demo is already available to download from the Nintendo Online Shop. This allows players to immerse themselves in the rich world and explore it with their own eyes before the full release in 2022.
Legend of the Mana frontier and remastered saga

It’s been revealed that two classic Square Enix JRPGs will be coming to the Switch later this year. While the first part is left as is as a simple porting, the second offers brand new content in the form of a new main character, Fuse. Both games also have cleaner graphics that highlight the rich color palette, pixie art, and environment design. For fans of old school classics, these two titles are not to be sneezed at.
