Since the last Animal Crossing update, which brought a number of Mario-themed items, players have shown off their skills with some amazing creations.
From rebuilding Bowser’s castle to designing Mario Kart courses, players have gone way beyond their ACNH design skills.
If you want to get started with Mario, here are a few fun ideas.
15. Mario’s Garden
Turn your island into a Super Mario garden with this retro idea.
To do it yourself, you first need to collect a large number of stones. You can then place them on the ground in the area you have chosen.
Then you can add question mark blocks and floating brick blocks to animate the area.
It looks like a real Super Mario style!
Add a few mushrooms, turnips and scallions to make it aesthetically pleasing.
And of course, if you have time for a photo shoot, wear your best Mario outfit.

Any Mario fan will recognize the flagpole door from the original SMB game.
So it makes sense to add it to your Mario theme, right?
Here’s how you can do it!
First, lay out a sandy soil at the location of your choice. You can then start adding a series of small mushroom platforms to set the scene.
Insert large mushroom platforms into the back to tie it all together.
To finish it off, add floating blocks, question blocks, thwomps and some coins and shells.
Then stand on your pole and see if anyone can reach it!
13. Mario Falls

Want to add a Mario-style waterfall to your island?
How about this cute model from Cheep Cheep, right?
To do it yourself, you must first build a large rock. You can then add waterfalls flowing down the middle of the cliff on all sides.
Don’t forget to add floating blocks and mushrooms to complete the set.
Finally, add some coins around the cliffs, and maybe a fire flower.
12. Mushroom Court

Have you ever dreamed of living in a video game?
How about a video game within a video game?
Now you can, with your own Mario-themed garden right next to your Animal Crossing home.
To do this, simply leave the house and install a fence around the perimeter. Then you can start decorating the garden with all the Mario objects you want (this 1-up mushroom is very elegant).
Bonus points are also available for a Mario costume.

You’ve turned the rest of your island into a Mario trail… How about coming home?
This Mario-themed room is a Nintendo fan’s dream.
To create this amazing view for yourself, you first need to take the mushroom mural and the blockade post.
Once they are in place, you can further decorate your room with lots of blocks, coins, shells and mushroom platforms.
Finally, add a bar to connect all the looks together.
10. Play bench

Would your island be complete without a Mario-style playground?
It’s such a simple design, but it will look great on your island. And it’s the perfect place to sit and play with your best friend.
All you need is your favorite couch and a table. Throw them wherever you want. You can even combine this idea with other playroom ideas.
You can also add a palm tree lamp for ambiance.
And don’t forget to bring your Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite.
If you really want to make the most of it, make sure you and your best friend wear a Mario and Luigi costume.
9. lava pit

There’s nothing like having part of a Super Mario course on your island …..
Not to mention the lava pit!
It’s such a cool addition that really captures the aesthetic of retro games.
To do this, you must first build a large rock on your island. But don’t forget to leave a space in the middle, which will serve as a lava pit.
In this area, you can add custom lava patterns (there are lots of custom patterns online to try out!).
You can then start decorating the top level of the cliff with coins, blocks, trees and mushrooms.
And don’t forget to add a dash of lava!
8. Mario costume madness

This model is for all true Mario fans.
If this is the case with you, here’s how to make this small space work for you.
First of all, you need to create a small fenced area on the island, with dirt paths.
Then decorate the area with lots of large mushroom platforms, red mushrooms, floating blocks and pipes.
And you can take this space to the next level with all the Mario-themed outfits!
7. Rainbow Road Mario Kart

This Mario Kart-themed zone is a great addition to ACNH.
This is the crossover we all need!
The first thing you need to do is get a custom design for your rainbow path. Once you have it, you can give it any shape you want.
You can then animate the track area with other blocks, mushroom platforms and coins.
And don’t forget to add a racing bed that doubles as a crazy go-kart.
6. Currency

Turn your garden into a Mario-style wonderland.
With such a beautiful design you will undoubtedly have the most beautiful garden on the island.
You only need a few blocks to get started.
You can arrange them however you like, but don’t forget to add lots of rooms and mushroom platforms.
Add a goal post and maybe some Mario hills in the background.
5. Mario Kart Raker Track
Is your Mario Island really over if you don’t have some sort of Mario Kart race track?
Here’s how to get it, and it’s actually really easy to do!
The first thing you need to do is create a custom design for your racetrack. You can then loop your track, regardless of size.
Don’t forget to build some rocks around the area too and decorate them with blocks, stars and mushrooms.
Don’t forget to add race car beds that serve as cars, and of course you’ll need fuel pumps to complete the look.
4. Mario Obstacle Course
Bring the fun of Super Mario to your island with this awesome themed challenge!
If you want to challenge your friends to a run, this is a cool model that is perfect for Mario.
You can start the design by building three paths and separating them with a rope fence.
You can then add coins and tubes to each aisle to match the theme.
Don’t forget to add lots of hoop toys. You can also customize them to fit your color scheme.
If you choose a custom cloud design, you can make simple panels to place on the back of your obstacle course to complete the look.
3. Bowser Lock
This is probably the most complete construction – it looks so real!
This incredible stay at Bowser Castle is a must for any true Mario fan.
To get started, you’ll need a set of simple panels, as well as custom brick patterns to make walls.
Then place two more single plates. They look like castle gates, with iron gates on the outside.
I already feel like I’m in a cooperative. ….
You can also use the silos as towers to build a castle.
And don’t forget to add a few extra pieces. They will make sure the place is guarded!
2. Princess Peach

Looking for something more peppy?
Try to build this Mario-themed playground on your island!
First, you need to get a custom design block for your floor. You can then bookmark this drawing to create your game path.
Don’t forget to add lots of floating blocks and question blocks to give it a Super Mario feel.
You should also add lots of coins and mushrooms to go with the theme.
Finish the look with a big mushroom platform, and don’t forget to throw it over your Princess Peach outfit (or a mannequin!).
1. Mario arcade
There’s no better way to honor Super Mario than with your own retro-style arcade.
If you have room in your house (may I suggest the attic?), give it a try.
First prepare the chosen room, add a block floor and a mushroom mural.
And don’t forget to put Yoshi’s egg on the mat.
Then you can start filling the room with as many arcade machines as possible, or maybe even throw in a Nintendo Switch system.
Add floating blocks, jelly and coins to this room and you have the hippest playroom in town!
