But I think the 70s were pretty iconic from start to finish.
There are a number of different styles, ranging from early to late 70s, but generally when you see something from the 70s, you know it.
Don’t confuse clothing with fashion.
It was so iconic that many CC manufacturers have since adopted much of the fashion and pop culture of the time. Yes, over forty years later, and the 70s are over!
For retro CC fans, it doesn’t get much better than this.
1. Farrah Flip Hair
Look at this CC
If you have a family member who was an adult in the 70s, you probably have a picture of him or her with this hairstyle somewhere.
One of the biggest stars of the time, Farrah Fawcett, with her blanket curls, was a big hit with women all over the world.
So are many of them.
And the great thing is (or was) that hair texture and hair characteristics can vary greatly from person to person, so you can get a lot out of it without being cookie-cutter.
In this case, the same cannot be said for your Sims.
Farrah Flip will always be the same.
And lucky for us, it looks fantastic. Wavy hair is never easy to handle, whether it’s real hair or hair designed for video games.
But the fact that breakfast ice cream is made here is actually perfect.
2. Megan’s Buttoned Top + Jeans

It wouldn’t be the 70s without a good old fashioned flare jean.
This SS has a nice denim texture, with some wear all around. The ripped part at the bottom is particularly accurate, as any denim that is not thin tends to drag at the bottom.
Or maybe that only applies to little people….. no, no one can wear rocket jeans without crying!
It’s also a very nice top with this CC. It has a button down center and long sleeves, giving it an incredibly unique (but definitely retro) look.
3. Moving disco ball

People often have strong feelings about disco, whether they have experienced it themselves or not.
The funky music, flashy clothes and crazy dance moves became a culture in itself for a while, peaking in the 70s.
This CC disco ball may not be an exact replica of the balls that used to be found in clubs.
But this is the closest we have to a Sims 4. And the best part: It’s functional!
Just plug it in, turn it on and send it into the room and the lights come on.
You know what that means, right?
Now we can build a disco. Eva28 really makes my dreams of the 70s come true.
4. medium length hair texture for men cut

When you own a nightclub, you have to be up to the task.
Afros were as big and beautiful then as they are now ….. maybe a little bigger than most people prefer now.
There are different options here for different sizes, but they all have a thick, wavy texture.
The big hair is still bouffant, but it’s a big step up from the baseball afro it’s based on. The exaggeratedly rounded shape is gone and replaced by a much more realistic one.
The second editor is a smaller, more compact afro, also nicely textured.
Both would be perfect for a 70’s simulator!
5. Sims 1 Disco Jacket

Ah, now we’re really getting down to business.
You don’t see collars that sharp anymore.
This game was first introduced in The Sims 1.
And thanks to Philosimi it is now available in The Sims 4.
The bright and colorful design really brings out the disco theme. Like the fact that any sim wearing this will walk around topless.
After all, it was a time of freedom and liberation.
6. General summer collection

Women’s fashion underwent the same revolution as men’s fashion in the 1970s.
In those days, suits were huge, and depending on the color or pattern, could be very flashy.
You really can’t blend in with the crowd if you’re only wearing denim or sequins from head to toe.
But CC is not there yet. And honestly, I think that’s something to be thankful for.
Instead, Saurus made these much more reasonable combinations. The atmosphere of the 70s is still there, but in bright summer colors and stripes, with the best the decade had to offer instead of (perhaps) the worst.
And there are so many monsters that you’ll probably never have enough of them.
These combinations have been part of my game for so long that I can’t remember when I first discovered them. I don’t know if Saurus intended them to look retro, but they do, and I’m glad about that.
7. Isabis Boots

After putting on her jeans or jumpsuit, Sim needs a pair of huge, chunky heels.
I believe it was a law in the 1970s.
These Isabis boots from MJ95 are absolutely perfect.
The extreme contours of this heel are perfect for nights of dancing under the disco ball.
Seriously, though. I don’t know how people dance in these shoes. I’m sure I’d break my ankle if I tried to get in.
But they look cool, don’t they? I mean, cool!
8. Soul Trains

This could be the most pleasant surprise of my life. I really can’t believe our sims have soul train poses.
That’s it. My experience with The Sims 4 has reached its peak.
Let me explain, for those who don’t know, how brilliant the Soul Train of the 70s was.
It was an all-music, all-dance television show, focusing primarily on the soul, disco and R&B hits of the time.
Of course, fashion and dance trends were also presented. The Soul Train was truly a cultural phenomenon like no other.
Now you can have your Sims do the same funky dance moves as the stylish and talented members of the show.
And there are many combinations possible, so your Soul Train can go on forever!
9. Copaceous legs

In the 70s, hair was very important, and not just on the head.
Facial hair was also very popular.
In my opinion, sideburns fall into the facial hair category.
The fact is that society’s expectations of what would be appropriate in terms of personal hygiene have changed drastically at this point.
Gone are the days when all men had very neat hair, a clean-shaven face and small sideburns.
And these CC chops have a really nice texture. They stop a few inches above Sims jaw, so they’re not as extreme as they would have been in the 70s.
But you don’t want lamb chops, do you?
I don’t know why they’ve lost popularity. I think it’s a very nice style.

This kind of thick style is pretty typical of a man from the 70s.
Did I mention long hair is in?
If you think about it, popular hairstyles, especially for men, only became popular in the 20th century. In the second half of the twentieth century, the length of the period gradually increased.
At this point, it was still pretty doable.
Most men wouldn’t have gone crazy with their hair yet and kept it long enough to confuse older generations.
The Birkshe Curly Mop is a perfect example.
Delicate, elegant and voluminous wavy curls that keep the cut quite tight.
11. Skate All Over Mod

In the 70s, roller skating took off, especially in the disco scene.
It was still a very popular pastime and even a means of transportation outside of the clubs.
From kids to teens, everyone was out and about with wheels on their feet.
Your Sims can now live in such a bizarre state themselves thanks to LittleMsSam.
You can skate anywhere, just like our fun-loving ancestors from the 70s. This add-on works just like when your Sim is walking or jogging, so think of all the sights they will see!
A walk along Brindleton Bay is a dream come true.
And for the exact time, make sure they wear very short shorts when they do it.
12. Swimsuit Recorder

All swimsuits currently available in the game are very fashionable.
Since The Sims is set in modern times, it does make sense.
But if you’re saving up for decades or just love retro style, you’ll definitely want something more appropriate for your Sims when they go swimming.
These simminginchi swimsuit colors are perfect for this kind of thing.
I love the 70s floral and striped style, not to mention the great color palettes. And there are so many of these drawings here.
13. Vintage T-shirts

From the late 1960s, rigid dress standards quickly disappeared.
T-shirts became more and more popular and by the 1970s they were an integral part of most people’s wardrobes.
Eventually they became available with graphic patterns, and T-straps were born.
I’m very happy to have a sample here for the Gates. Even though it’s in Simlish, I know this picture as well as any 70’s music fan!
This shirt is elegantly tied at the bottom, perfect to combine with flare jeans.
14. Giselle Hair

Many women in the 70s preferred the simple look with long hair parted in the middle.
And if you want the same hairstyle in TS4, you can thank Greenllamas for this dynamic, layered hairstyle.
It’s always nice when CC’s hair can go partially over his shoulder without being too shaggy.
I’m sure they all looked like they came out of a shampoo commercial, whether it was a long, silky Farrah Flip style or some other signature style.
Now your sims will be just as beautiful and slightly wavy.
Medium hair will never let you down.
15. Hippie Jeans

The hippies didn’t disappear into the mist after Woodstock, you know.
They continued to maintain the same lifestyle through most of the 1970s.
Clothes were as expensive then as they are now. Well, sort of – inflation and all, but you know what I mean.
Denim was in, and you wanted to keep it that way. Especially if it was a unique style like this SS.
Patches were an easy way to make your jeans stand out and add something extra to your outfit. With the flared leg, of course.
