Intel has confirmed two new CPU lineups which include the 13th Generation Raptor Lake and 14th Generation Meteor Lake. Both these lineups include both consumer end and server CPUs. Intel has unveiled the Emerald Lake and Diamond Lake families which will succeed the Sapphire Rapids and Granite Rapids Xeon CPUs.

13th Gen Raptor Lake Desktop CPUs

On the website listing, there is not much information regarding the Raptor Lake desktop CPUs. A big piece of information is that they are listed along with the Alder Lake CPUs (S-Series) which confirms that they will be compatible with the LGA 1700 socket, which will arrive with the Alder Lake CPUs.

Alder Lake 12th Gen’ CPUs will be the first Intel CPUs to utilize a hybrid core design approach while being based on the 10nm Enhanced SuperFin process. And 13th Gen Raptor Lake will be its successor. The desktop Raptor Lake lineup will get new hybrid CPU core changes for improved core performance. Some kind of game cache has also been mentioned for Raptor lake which can be Intel’s own twist on AMD’s game cache.

The Intel vPro technology will also be expanded upon in terms of feature set. Raptor Lake CPUs for the desktop will utilize DDR5-4800 and feature up to 48 PCIe Gen 5 lanes. Mobility variants will get support for new LPDDR5X memory and also get a new DLVR power delivery system.

14th Gen Meteor Lake Desktop CPUs

Along with listing Raptor Lake, Intel has also listed its successor the 14th Gen Meteor Lake on its website. Intel’s Meteor Lake line of desktop and mobility CPUs is expected to be based on a new line of Cove core architecture rumored as ‘Redwood Cove’ and will be based on a 7nm EUV process node.

Meteor Lake will be Intel’s farewell to the ring bus architecture and there are rumors that the lineup will feature a fully stacked 3D design. On the website, it is mentioned that Intel will be officially utilizing its Foveros Packaging Technology on the CPU to inter-connect the various dies on the chip.

The Meteor Lake Desktop CPU family is expected to retain support on the LGA 1700 socket which is the same socket used by Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors. DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5.0 support will be available in this lineup as well. The platform will support both DDR5 and DDR4 memory depending upon the chipset.

Future Xeon / HEDT CPU Families

Intel has confirmed some server processor line-ups as well, which are the Intel Emerald Rapids and Diamond Rapid processors. According to the listing on the website, Emerald Rapids will succeed the Sapphire Rapids Xeon Scalable processor family.

Intel is expected to update its Xeon platform with Mountain Stream and Birch Stream. Both Granite and Diamond Rapids are listed for Mountain Stream but only Diamond Rapids is listed for the Birch Stream platform. The Diamond Stream platform will replace Granite Rapids as its successor.

Intel Xe-HPG DG2 Desktop and Mobile GPUs

On the GPU front, Intel has listed down several of its Xe-HPG DG2 GPU-based graphics card configurations and also pointed out a specific variant of its flagship Ponte Vecchio GPU. Three DG2 SKUs have been spotted on the Intel website which includes 512 EU, 384 EU, and 128 EU chips. Each SKU will feature multiple variants with different configurations.

Coming to the Intel Xe-HPG DG2 512 EU GPU SKU, it has just one configuration listed for now. It utilizes the full die with 4096 cores, has a 256-bit bus interface, and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. Coming to the Intel Xe-HPG DG2 384 GPU SKU, three different variants have been listed on Intel’s website.

The full CPU features 3072 cores, up to 12 GB GDDR6 memory (6 GB GDDR6 listed too), and a 192-bit bus interface. The other 2 are cutdown variants having 256 and 192 EUs respectively. Both come with a 128-bit bus. The 256 EU SKU will come with up to 8 GB GDDR6 memory. The 192 EU variant will have just 4 GB GDDR6 memory.

The last is the Xe-HPG DG2 128 EU SKU and the full-fat GPU will feature 1024 cores with a 64-bit bus. It will only have 4 GB of GDDR6 memory. The cut-down variant will come with 96 EUs or 768 cores and a 4 GB GDDR6 memory featured across a 64-bit bus interface. This GPU will be used in entry-level discrete desktop graphics cards.

The DG2-512EU will be based on the BGA 2660 socket whereas the DG2-128EU will be based on the BGA 1379 socket. The 384 EU GPU will fall somewhere in between.

Intel Ponte Vecchio Xe-HPC GPU With 600W Liquid Cooling

The last big unveiling on the Intel website is a new thermal configuration listed for Intel’s flagship Xe-HPC GPU, Ponte Vecchio. A liquid cooling solution has been spotted to cool the massive 600W TDP of the Ponte Vecchio GPU, which is expected to feature over 100 billion transistors.
