All it takes is a little with a few bumps to get things done, eventually.
But they really are an important piece of furniture when it comes to setting the mood and tone. I didn’t realize the importance of the board until I started consulting it in CC.
Maybe you want your shelves to stand out. Maybe not. In any case, the person you install in Sims house will have a say and contribute to the decor.
You’ll find a little bit of everything on this list. So step into Simmer’s best shelves and you can decide which way you want to go!
1. Nordic Library

Anything with the word North in its name must be cool. I don’t make the rules.
This large library fits well in any modern home. The shelves are nicely symmetrical, which isn’t important to everyone, but I like it.
It also comes with a bit of clutter, so you can place it however you want on these beautiful shelves perfectly aligned. And while I love symmetry when it comes to the furniture itself, I don’t think the books are quite straight.
Some lean to the left, some to the right, some in a heap.
So is my own collection of messy books.
2. Vertical Library Complex
Consult this CC
As someone with vertical issues, I like that.
I know it doesn’t matter in The Sims, but why are all their bookshelves so high! It’s a good thing the adult sims are the same size, because personally I couldn’t get anything into their houses without a level.
My favorite thing about this CC is that you can turn it into an entertainment center!
That’s right: By combining shelves at different heights, your Sims can have shelves in their living room without it being very uncomfortable. In fact, they will harmonize with the rest of the furniture.
Plus, the amusement centers always look so friendly and organized.
3. IKEA Billy Library

Here we have several sizes and shapes of shelves to choose from – at least five, I see.
My favorite part of these shelves is actually the bookcase decoration that goes with them. The guide dog is particularly bright, but all the little additions here make your Sim’s bookcase easily blend in with the rest of the room.
The books even have detailed Simlish covers, which I also really like.
4. Plates for absolute plates

The trend of reusing wooden pallets and crates is something I can really support.
And I’m glad the Sims are the beneficiaries now.
You can do whatever you want with it. Use as many separate drawers as you want to make large shelves, in short, line the walls with them.
There are many raw wood patterns for those of you who want to keep the rustic look of recycling, as well as more colorful patterns if you want something more modern.
5. Asian Library

If you want to add a cultural touch to your Sima home, you should check out this Tian Mun library.
This one has a really cool design, from the unique placement of the shelves to the gold details. There are some Asian decorative items that I really like.
I don’t know what they’re called, but they’re all very familiar and a sight to behold.
Every time I can add a little culture to my Sim’s home, it’s a win for me.
6. Hanabira Library

Shelves like this always tempt me to climb on them. I think it’s Home Alone or something.
At least then you can be sure it won’t break and release a tarantula.
Many of the shelves here have different heights, which works really well with these large shelves. That’s where the words robust and clean come in.
This Hanabira CC bookcase from Vroshii is simply a feast for the eyes and is available in four different wood tones.

A small, compact bookcase is just as good as a large, wide one. As these regiments from Pyshny prove.
Whatever you use them for, they are an ideal addition to any living room, bedroom or home office.
Or you could always build your own library – that would be nice. This Willow Creek gets really old after a while.
There is also a lot of room at the top, which I always like because you can add your own flavor of decoration simulation.
The books on these shelves seem very different to me than the books in the game.
Maybe it’s because they are so close together, but all the different colors and patterns really make the owner of these shelves look like an avid reader.
8. Library with conservatory 2

Here we have another highly customizable shelf. Don’t you love having your Sim’s furniture all to yourself?
You can mix and match them in different ways.
Use only one section for a single narrow board. Combine the two pairs to make something larger, and open up additional storage compartments.
Put four or five on a large shelf to hold all of your Sim’s books and trinkets.
So many shelves. So many possibilities.
9. Mediterraneo Library

Maybe it’s just the right name for me, but it makes me think of pirates.
That would fit well on the old ship. If there were antique shops in Sims, they could probably find this in one.
Unfortunately, you can’t live on a pirate ship in The Sims 4 yet, so you’ll have to make do with a house. Which isn’t really reassuring, because it’s still a good board.
He would be perfect in a room, even if it’s not the captain’s room.
10. Longford Library

Now, this CC is pretty unique. Separately, but together.
Actually, it reminds me of a shelf with drawers, but it’s already assembled.
Luckily your Sim’s house won’t be dusty, because it’s very hard to clean.
Instead, this Longford shelf will stay there and look great, as we all want it to.
