The licensing process, however, is definitely rigorous. I found different reports of the process, but some of the criteria include:

There are more, but the list of criteria to meet is extensive. I like it. I might not like it if I’m trying to get approval, but as a player, I like how thorough it is.

And I had first heard about the tax benefits in Malta. I don’t understand how a country could offer such low tax rates when I pay so much.
The 35% corporate tax rate Malta imposes doesn’t tell the entire story. That seems expensive, but it isn’t. There’s a unique system of refunds and incentives. Gaming companies can see this rate reduced to as low as 5%. Compared to other countries, that low-tax fee is insane.
I think this incredible advantage is probably the only reason why gaming companies would want to register their company in Malta and get the stamp of approval.

I think getting a license from Malta supports business growth. For one, it makes a gaming brand more reputable. Not everyone looks at gaming licenses (I don’t always), but I know how essential they are to regulate the industry. A brand is far more reputable with the Malta stamp of approval.
The Maltese government has created an environment encouraging innovation and growth. It offers stability and support crucial for any business. Not every country will do that.

Malta doesn’t just offer a place to set up shop. It offers a partnership. Countries like America would never do this.
I love Malta. It’s a great place to visit and an even better location for business. It’s not quite becoming a Monaco resident tax-free for business, but it’s still good. Interestingly, in 2022, there was a 1.7% increase in businesses registering in Malta – I thought it would be more than that.
