All the easter eggs from Hitman 3
Discover all the references to Easter eggs and pop culture that developer IO Interactive has hidden in Hitman 3, and make sure you don’t miss any.
Spongy Calzones
Strangest of all is the pop culture reference to Sponge Bob. No one would think that a game about a ruthless, emotionless killer would be reminiscent of a children’s cartoon, but here it is. As you search the Berlin mission, you find a filthy bathroom with a bathtub full of dirty water. If you look in it, you’ll see a sponge and a pineapple. Unfortunately, there is no trace of Patrick Stahr, who was supposed to make everything perfect.
Untitled Goose Game
If you think assassins are tricky, then you certainly haven’t watched Goose Wrath. Fortunately, on the same mission in Berlin…. There you will find the Goose logo without the name of the game, with the words “Do not enter” written next to it in German. Of course, IO Interactive sees a parallel between Hitman and Nameless Goose Game, since both themes are based on manipulation and distraction.
The X-Files Easter Egg
It seems that the Berlin mission in Hitman 3 was designed with as many Easter eggs as the developers could hide on the map. The 1993 hit show, The X Files, has a little reminder that serves as an alternate way out. Once you’ve accomplished your goals, look for a graffiti that shows a small alien spaceship, a phone and the number 1993. If you walk away from this place, you will see a gas station with a phone booth. Grab the phone and dial 1993 to get the alien out.
Sheets inside sheets
If you’re a fan of crime movies, you can’t help but notice the similarities between Dartmoor Mission and Knives Out. You can even play detective if you play your cards right and solve a mysterious murder. Agent 47 can certainly play many roles, and being a detective is probably in his blood. Check out this shiny Easter egg playing the whole bet.
Lord of the Rings Easter Egg
Middle-earth has nothing to do with Agent 47, but in Hitman 3 there is an Easter egg that pays homage to Lord of the Rings. In the Mendoza Mission, you’ll find a sign at the entrance that says, “No credit except for party stuff.” You see the same sign right in front of Bilbo Baggins’ house at his birthday party. A LOTR-like mission would be nice, but in a stealth game, it would be too much.
While this list is far from complete, we will be adding more in the meantime. If you get stuck in a mission, don’t forget to check out the Hitman 3 guides here.
