At its Spring Loaded event held today, Apple announced the latest additions to its growing family of ARM-based M1 chips: the iMac and iPad Pro. Apple’s new iMac reportedly offers 85% faster CPU performance and 2x faster GPU performance compared to the older 21.5-inch model, while the new iPad Pro reportedly offers 50% faster CPU performance and 40% faster GPU performance compared to its Bionic-based A12Z predecessor. The new iMac with 7-core GPU ($1,299), 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi + Cellular ($799), 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi + Cellular ($999), 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi + Cellular ($1,099) and 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi + Cellular ($1,299) will be available for order at starting Friday, the 30th. April.

At just 11.5 millimeters thick and with a striking side profile that nearly disappears, the new iMac delivers powerful performance. Vivid colors to match your personal style and brighten any room are available on the 24-inch Retina display with 4.5K, 11.3 million pixels with 500 nits brightness and over a billion colors for a stunning and vivid viewing experience. The new iMac also features a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, studio-quality microphones, and a six-speaker audio system – the best camera and audio system ever built into a Mac. Touch ID also appears for the first time on the iMac, allowing you to sign in securely, make purchases with Apple Pay, or change your user profile with a simple touch.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro features the new Liquid Retina XDR display, which adds extreme dynamic range to the iPad Pro and delivers a stunning visual experience with more detail in demanding HDR workflows. Mobile phone models that support 5G provide an even faster wireless connection when you’re on the go. And to enable users to take advantage of high-speed accessories at a professional level, the iPad Pro is now Thunderbolt compatible. In addition, the new ultra-wide-angle front camera enables central positioning, a new feature that automatically provides the perfect frame for even more engaging video calls.
