While Persona remains in the multiverse that Shin Megami Tensei has become, and follows its confrontation with false gods and devious deities, it adds a personal touch to the litany of connotations it contains. Persona 5 can handle a lot of tricky subjects, not only in P5 Vanilla and Royal, but also in the latest version Persona 5 Strikers in a related spin-off. Persona 5 kept the story alive with its intriguing sub-franchise and managed to capture the hearts of many players, but late in the series’ existence. Many newcomers and fans have been drawn to the current troop of villains who rush to Japan to save a helpless population from an impending danger manifested by the evil ambition of each powerful ruler. I liken his premise to a quote from former Cold Stone pro wrestler, Steve Austin, who once said You don’t want to go to work and kick your bosses ass? – Wise words.
As a society, we would like to see a reform that may have had to take place over a long period of time. It’s a nice feeling to enjoy a moment like this. But with the longevity of Persona 5, there is a personal connection that continues and is almost too strong to be left out. These characters are now central to the entire series and are the broader audience that the developers are investing in moving forward. Of course, there’s the issue of development and attracting the whole group to come back and take on their respective roles, but it’s quite a Pandora’s box, with the 30th anniversary just around the corner. With the 50th anniversary of Persona 5 and the possible announcement of Persona 6, Strikers might just open the curtain on the Ghost Thieves. Are we ready to say goodbye to these heroes? Personally, I don’t think this is the right time, but only time will tell.
This will be somewhat controversial, as it usually is when a franchise introduces yet another set of unknown characters that are slowly massaged into our webs. But for those in the know, Persona 5 has taken everything from the history of the series and condensed the main themes into a state of problem gambling. The above list of antecedents and their general premise is linked and marked as P5, where the goal of each character implies severe punishment to get rid of the nature of the malicious intentions with which they are associated, a significant part of the motives being implied by the twisted desires they embody and accomplish. But how do we get them back? How does the developer of ATLUS make it seem natural instead of forcing yet another spin-off in the name of infinity? Nothing lasts forever, but ghost heart thieves have the ability to move on.

Either way, I’m excited about the franchise and its bright future. ATLUS has moved on to something special with Persona 5 over the past five years, and if the series’ creators really feel it’s time to move on from the crimson lead aesthetic to something emerald, I’m fine with that. Of course I would love to see these characters experience another epic, perhaps completing their stories with each other, with a returning villain and two other teammates who have never met, all together as one force? Hey, it’s possible. But maybe it’s just a dream, because the story suggests that Persona is getting a first release, a remastered reissue, a dance game, a Nintendo Q exclusive, and now Musk. But what if someone at ATLUS thinks the Spirit of the Heart Thieves has another one? Yeah, um… Yes, it is.
Persona 5 Strikers comes out on the 23rd. February 2021 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

frequently asked questions
Have ghost robbers lost their powers?
about how they lost their powers, no way. The way they wrestled with their destiny, fought the evil in the world and shaped their future after the disappearance of the metaverse, testifies to this. They got the Joker out of prison, changed his past by shaping his future, and confronted the evil Shido even after he destroyed his palace.
Are Ghost Thieves Bad?
They’re bad. They brainwash people into confessing their crimes, which (as we see in the confessions of Kamoshida and Madame) seems to cause them a lot of psychological pain that could be considered torture. As far as I’m concerned, they’re just as bad as their targets.
How many ghost robbers are there?
In addition to the main player/character, there are eight more Ghost Thieves in Persona 5.
