In today’s post, I’ll give you a list of some of the greatest vintage old games you should play if you’re stuck at home: low-cost games that are still very entertaining and gratifying.

Heroes of Might & Magic 3 Complete
On this list, there are a few games that can be played forever. One of them is HoMM3. This is a classic game that you will enjoy replaying, made even better with modifications that you can download for free – such as WoG or HoTA.
HoMM3 is one of my all-time favorite games, and I can’t suggest it highly enough if you haven’t tried it yet. It’s a little more difficult to play if you haven’t played – since it’s complicated and demanding. It can be downloaded for a few dollars on GoG.
Diablo & Hellfire
This is a game that was released more than two decades ago and is still regarded as one of the most influential and popular games of all time. Replaying the classic hack’n’slash RPG to see whether you still have the skills to dominate the game is a lot of fun.
On GoG, you can get Diablo for less than $10, which includes the Hellfire expansion.
Warcraft 2 is a game developed by Blizzard
I really preferred Dune 2 to the Warcraft RTS series, but because the former is no longer available (except on abandonedware sites) and the latter is more accessible – and still of incredibly high quality – I choose to suggest it instead.
Return to the war between the Orcs and the Humans and lead your side to victory in this classic game that will elicit all of your childhood memories. It’s also available on Google Play.
3rd installment of The Settlers
The Settlers 3 is, in my view, the finest game in the series for those who like a slower-paced city-building simulator. It will hook you right away and will help you relax… It’s simple and straightforward, yet it’s also complicated.

Caesar 3
The Settlers 3 takes you out from the rural surroundings and into the days of the Roman empire. Another city-building simulation that has won its place in history. This time, one with a merciless difficulty – since that’s how they used to make games back then!

The Witcher is a fantasy role-playing game.
Despite the fact that it is not as ancient as the majority of the games on our list, The Witcher is unquestionably a classic and a true masterpiece. So come along with Geralt on his travels and have a great time.
At the time of writing, the first Witcher is on sale for under $2 (as are all the other games in the series — now is a fantastic time to buy them up if the price is still available).

Jazz 2nd Jackrabbit
You won’t be doing much jogging if you’re trapped at home, but you can make up for it (at least partly) by (re)playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2. This fantastic, bright, and cheerful platformer starring Jazz the bunny will keep both young and old amused for hours.

Commandos 2 & 3
It’s a little sluggish for my tastes, but it’s a classic. Any game in the series — or all of them – will suffice, and you have a variety of purchasing choices. All of them will enable you to go back in time and command your squad one by one deep behind enemy lines, turning the tides of battle in your favor.
A fantastic game for people who like strategizing and carefully planning each move. It’s not like you’re in a rush to begin with!

Terraria
Another game that is a little more contemporary, but is still enjoyable and unquestionably a classic. Also, a game that will keep you occupied till the chaos is gone, enabling you to create your ideal world while having fun.
Terraria is a must-play during these times because of the high degree of difficulty and the infinite crafting/building and general gaming possibilities.

GTA San Andreas is a video game developed by Rockstar Games.
San Andreas is without a doubt one of the most popular Grand Theft Auto games, and one that will always evoke fond memories. Sure, all of the GTA games are fantastic and very popular, but if you want to go back in time, this is the game to play.
It’s now available on Steam for less than $10.
Civilization 3 is a third-person shooter.
One of my all-time favorite series is the Civilization series. I like turn-based strategy games, and I don’t believe there are any that compare to the Civ games in terms of intricacy and brilliance.
While it’s arguable whether Civ 2 or Civ 3 is the greatest, I’ve chosen to suggest the latter since it’s newer and more aesthetically attractive. You can’t go wrong with this one if you want to keep attempting to beat the game, create challenges for your civilisation, and try new things. Absolutely fantastic!

Max Payne
Max Payne, the first first-person shooter to feature bullet time, is unquestionably a game ahead of its time. This is still one of the greatest shooters ever created, with a rich narrative, a likable character, and some amazing gameplay features. Now since you’re trapped at home, it’s definitely worth attempting or repeating.

Gothic 1 or Gothic 2 (or both)
I squandered many hours playing the first Gothic, and then even more (albeit fewer) nights playing the sequel. A fantastic set of games that will delight RPG lovers to no end.
Yes, it’s riddled with bugs, which may be aggravating at times, but it has a great narrative and is without a doubt one of the finest RPG series ever.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy both for less than $10, so choose one and enjoy it. Gothic 1 or Gothic 2 are available on GOG, while Gothic 2 is available on Steam.
