Old-school décor is back in style, and there’s a lot to see in the old-school furniture and décor sections at furniture stores and antique malls. In this blog post, we’ll be providing an overview of some of the best old-school furniture, décor and collectibles. Hopefully, you’ll discover a few items that can add some old-school style and character to your home or office.
We have been writing about and collecting antique games for more than four years now, and the number of antique games we have been finding has increased every year. One of the most popular ways to collect antique games is to buy original boxes and manuals from vintage game stores, and most of the time, these antique games are not for sale. That said, it is possible to find some rare games for sale online, and the following antique games are some of the best we have found.
It seems like every day we find another antique piece that we absolutely love. Our antique obsession is a byproduct of our love of history, and our love of history is a byproduct of ancient history. Since the dawn of time, people have been fascinated with the past. The oldest writings, art, houses, and other items that were made or used by our ancestors are a constant source of interest to us today.
For a variety of reasons, people enjoy to integrate vintage things into their real-life and Sims’ houses.
Maybe it’s because they have such a long history, or maybe they’re just more appealing to the eye than new objects for certain individuals.
There are even stores devoted to these goods, allowing collectors to acquire a large variety at once.
This list is sort of like a condensed antique store for your Sims!
Simmers are undoubtedly antique collectors in some manner, with so much to pick from.
There’s enough to go around, whether you simply want a few items to alter the décor of your Sim’s house or want to completely deck it out in old-school goods.
1. Chinese antique vases

The beauty of ancient Chinese artifacts cannot be overstated.
They’re usually elaborate and colorful. It’s difficult to look away.
And these vases, which were translated from The Sims 3, have a distinct antique air to them.
Each one is also one-of-a-kind. Each vase has amazing workmanship and hues, and no two samples are same.
Because so much in the game is based on traditional American designs, Chinese décor stands out in a big manner unless you have specialized packs.
There’s no wrong way to incorporate these vases in your Sims house, whether you’re aiming for a fully vintage appearance or simply want to utilize them in your Sims loft.
Mantles on fireplaces, sideboards in dining rooms, and bare shelves on bookcases are all screaming for an ancient Chinese vase.
Antique Basin No. 2
Take a Look At This CC
Basins, at least for their original purpose, don’t have much of a role in contemporary life.
No one wants to wash their dishes in a tea pitcher anymore. It’s odd, to say the least.
However, just because basins were used in a different way in the past doesn’t imply they’ve gone out of style.
These lovely porcelain patterns are still lovely to look at and could potentially be used for anything.
To put it another way, you may act as if your Sims utilize them for anything.
Maybe that’s their substitute for a teapot, or they’re the sort to keep it by their bed instead of a water bottle. Who knows what will happen.
I like how sophisticated they are, with their pastel floral patterns on the front.
3. Monet+Van Gogh Impressionist Paintings
Take a Look At This CC
There’s a lot to select from when it comes to vintage paintings.
Art has been created by humans for tens of thousands of years. And a lot of it has been preserved.
It now hangs in museums or appears on Antiques Roadshow every now and then.
Your Sims may now have classic paintings in their houses as well.
Many of them, which are based on genuine Monet and Van Gogh paintings, are instantly recognized. Starry Night is unmistakable!
Even if you aren’t an art expert, they are beautiful works of art to display in your Sim’s house.
There are also a variety of genres here, such as nature landscapes and abstract paintings.
4. Vintage Living Room Furniture
Take a Look At This CC
If you want to exhibit many antiques at once, the living room is the place to be.
They simply seem to be a little more durable and more suited to blending in with contemporary furnishings than antiques for bedrooms or kitchens.
Old-fashioned chests and entertainments are inconspicuous and will blend in seamlessly.
This collection includes lovely wood swatches in a variety of tones, so you won’t be overwhelmed by wood if everything matches perfectly.
The chairs are also fantastic.
Their cloth has a faint yet genuine texture, and they have an apparent antique appearance.
Antique Wardrobe No. 5
Take a Look At This CC
Antique furniture is very desirable.
The style and workmanship of previous decades are no longer available, and demand greatly outnumbers supply.
When you think about it, the sheer fact that antiques exist implies that they have been cared for.
If you have an old object in your cellar collecting dust and mildew, it isn’t truly an antique.
They’re supposed to be high-quality, well-preserved antiques.
Furniture, at least in The Sims, lasts forever until it’s set on fire.
You may have parts that are handed down through the family from generation to generation.
That’s where this dresser comes in handy. Especially because it was actually handed down or translated from The Sims 3.
It’s just as lovely today as it was back then.
The wood tones vary throughout the seven samples, but the gold decorations remain constant. They certainly give a touch of “old world” allure.
6. Two Busts of Marble
Take a Look At This CC
Having an identical copy of someone’s head on your mantle was formerly thought to be a sign of excellent taste.
Busts are little sculptures that are usually constructed of marble and are extremely detailed and costly.
And if I’ve learned anything from television, it’s that they’re heavy enough to be a useful weapon in a hurry.
They’re also the sort of antique that a lot of people would want to have in their house.
These busts will look great on your Sim if he or she enjoys the finest things in life.
Both designs include an accurate representation of a man’s head. Each one has six swatches that range in color from immaculate white to deeper grey and purple tones.
7. Stove Hood, Antique

You may be thinking to yourself, “I know what you’re thinking:
“Yay, a stove hood!” exclaims the narrator. There aren’t nearly enough options in the game!”
…yes, that was sarcasm, even if it was hard to discern through text.
Some Simmers make a running joke about how many stove hoods we have compared to the lack of diversity in other areas.
This one, though, is unique.
It’s an antique, and we don’t have anything like it.
In reality, when it comes to kitchens, we don’t have much in the way of antiques.
What makes this stove hood even more unique is that it includes decorative slots! There is space for tiny clutter objects on both the smaller shelf and the ledge surrounding it.
The colors and little details also give it a vintage vibe, so it’ll be ideal if you want your new home to have an older kitchen!
8. Clutter from the past

Antique books may be the coolest thing on the planet.
They’re one of the few physical things you can take home from an antique store or an estate sale that you can hold, love, and absorb.
The words and tales contained inside them have survived generations and global events, as well as a great deal of daily life that we contemporary people are unaware of.
If only they could communicate.
Books are unquestionably at the top of every antiquities collector’s wish list.
While your Sims won’t be able to read the books included in this set, they’ll make excellent decor.
On a wooden tray, there’s a little stack of them, as well as a book with candles on top. You’ll be able to naturally incorporate that faint “weathered” appearance into your design using them.
The other things on this list aren’t going to harm either.
It’s a great idea to include old family pictures in your game. Either to give realism to your Decades Challenge saves or as décor (again, to contribute to that contemporary vintage mix).
Antique Wicker Set No. 9

Wicker isn’t as common as it once was.
As a result, all previous wicker goods are now considered antiques. Right?
Not at all.
However, since wicker’s popularity fluctuated during the twentieth century, there are plenty of vintage pieces available.
This CC set, which was translated from The Sims 3, will undoubtedly satisfy your needs.
A couch, dining chair, lounge chair, coffee table, and end table are included, and they may be utilized to elegantly outfit any room with an old-timey vibe.
You can even use this stuff outside without it seeming out of place.
Antique Rugs from Anatolia

Old carpets are one-of-a-kind.
They always seem to be extravagant and opulent. It’s possible that these are just the carpets that have survived the test of time, and our great-grandparents discarded their dull ones, but I doubt we’ll ever know for sure.
The name “Anatolia” is used because carpets like these originated in western Asia and were produced in a unique, complex manner.
The amount of effort and skill that must have gone into such designs today is undeniable.
Your Sims may now have one of the elegant carpets in their houses as well.
These are circular and the perfect size for a living room or an office.
No two swatches are the same, either. So you’ll have four amazing & elegant rugs to use.
Floral Fantasy Couches No. 11
Take a Look At This CC
The term “antique” does not always imply anything that is a hundred years old or older.
Antique stores have a plethora of items from the 1950s and 1960s, especially when it comes to furniture.
Floral sofas had to be one of the greatest things to come out of those decades.
Something about them is just amazing.
I hope they would never go out of style, but the beauty of The Sims is that you get to choose what goes in and out.
You have complete control over the planet. There isn’t a single thing that has to happen without you being able to reverse or influence it.
That seems really ominous, yet… I’m just speaking about interior design issues.
These vintage-inspired sofas were created using The Sims 2. Unlike in real life, they’re in excellent condition, as is the case with most Sims furniture.
There are five swatches to pick from, each with a different floral pattern, shape, and size.
Copper Portraits, No. 12

Photographs are already amazing.
I mean, capturing a single moment in time and immortalizing it? That has to be one of humanity’s most significant accomplishments.
Especially because pictures may endure an eternity (as long as they’re taken care of).
Looking back at photographs from decades or centuries ago may provide us with a peek into that era.
That is why any antique collector can never have enough photographs. Visualizations of the past are amazing if you have an interest in the past, particularly because of their history.
After all, any object with a copper frame will seem ancient.
This CC artist recolored another Simmer’s drawings to create beautiful vintage images.
Landscapes and portraits are among the choices covered by the 40 swatches offered.
The Big Granny Pack #2 (#13)

Your grandparents are the only people you can trust to give you excellent antiques.
Mostly because it wasn’t an antique to them when they purchased it, no matter what it was.
Just how it is right now.
Your phones and video games will be antiques in another 50 years if you keep them. But isn’t that insane now?
The houses of many old people are like windows into the past, and this collection illustrates that.
Solid colors and patterns are equally well represented in the armchair swatches. I could certainly see these at a store!
Also noteworthy is the Tiffany-style light.
People have been dying to have those colorful & vibrant designs throughout the past century.
Most of this pack has recolors from The Cats & Dogs Pack, so the couch, chair, and ottoman all have matching swatches.
14. Hutch Classic

While it’s wonderful to locate things that are already cluttered, it’s also a good idea to utilize furniture that has vacant spaces.
This way, you have complete control over what you and your Sim do.
Do you like cluttered shelves or a more minimalist appearance with a few functional items strewn about?
Here’s one of the few things where you have complete control.
This traditional hutch has rich wood swatches with gold, black, or silver hinges and drawer handles, depending on the swatch.
Don’t worry if this thing seems familiar; you’re not insane.
It’s actually an altered piece from the Cats & Dogs pack (so you’ll need that to use it).
Paintings by Vanitas (nineteenth century)
Take a Look At This CC
There seems to be a macabre obsession with death in various periods.
The macabre has always been a part of antique art.
According to the Internet, Vanitas artwork is deliberately created to represent “the futility of pleasure” and “the inevitability of death.”
I’m assuming it’s correct.
At the very least, there are a lot of skulls in them.
They’re all based on real-life paintings from the 1800s, and they’re all nicely framed in gold.
I’m sure your gothic or otherwise gloomy Sims will like them!
The best way to describe old-school antiques is to say that they’re the decorating equivalent of the old DOS operating system. They’re clunky and way more difficult to use than the modern day equivalents — and sometimes you’ll find that it’s easier to burn a CD than to figure out how to do it through the antiquated software that can be found..
