CES to End a Day Earlier Due to COVID-19

The Consumer Electronics Show has been shortened due to the emergency closure of Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. The show, which starts on January 8th and ends January 10th, 2019 will now end on Wednesday instead of Thursday.

The “will ces 2022 be cancelled” is a question that has been on the minds of many since the COVID-19 was released. The CES will end a day earlier due to this new rule.

To reduce the danger of COVID-19, CES will now finish one day early on January 7.

“As the world’s most prominent technology event, CES is committed to being the gathering place to exhibit goods and debate ideas that will eventually improve our lives,” Gary Shapiro said (President and CEO, CTA). “We’ve cut the exhibition down to three days and implemented rigorous health safeguards to ensure the safety of all guests and participants.”

The Omicron variety continues to expand at a fast pace. Many people have converted from attending in-person events to attending virtual ones. KIOXIA is the most recent, and it is intended to have PCIe 5.0 SSDs and flash memory. At the 2021 Flash Memory Summit, the firm projected rates of up to 15 GB/s for a prototype drive (CFMS).

KIOXIA America has reviewed the most recent facts on the fast changing public health environment and has decided to cancel our on-site participation at CES 2022 in Las Vegas after careful thought. Instead, we’ll concentrate on supporting our virtual digital activities at CES, where we’ll use the CES digital exhibitor venue and our own virtual booth platform to display our newest flash memory and SSD technologies. Our workers’, customers’, and partners’ health and well-being are our top priorities, and although we won’t be able to meet in person at the show, we’re looking into future possibilities and hoping to interact digitally throughout the event.

In line with this decision, KIOXIA has set a date in 2022 to begin commemorating the 35th anniversary of the development of NAND flash.

“As we move forward to CES 2022, we’re faced with a difficult decision,” Shapiro continued. “If we cancel the event, we would harm hundreds of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and inventors that have invested in their displays and rely on CES for revenue, inspiration, and the future.”
