How to get the Cartographer achievement in Mundaun

Mundaun is an excellent horror game from the Hidden Fields team. The art style is beautiful in its simplicity, and the game gives you a series of fascinating quests that give you the best views of the mountain town. If you do them all, you’ll be rewarded with a mapper’s achievement, in addition to all the beautiful scenery. It can be difficult to find them, but we’ve put together a short guide to help you if you’ve missed one. And, for the record, this guide will contain some mild spoilers to describe the locations.

See location #1

The best way to find these places is to look for signs that someone is sitting on and look through binoculars. If you follow them, you will arrive at your destination.

You find the first one after leaving the barn where your grandfather died. Once through the gate, you can turn left to see the sign pictured above. Then he climbs the hill to the first viewpoint.

The second species is found in the same area. Just before the tunnel, you will see a sign directing you to the next area. If you follow it along the path that goes past the tunnel, you will see the next bench that overlooks the church.

Pitch #3

You will find the third location after climbing up to the second area of the game. When you leave the hay barn and turn right, you will see a signpost. A real bench that hangs over the river and is very visible. We recommend waiting until morning so you don’t have to dodge angry bats while searching.

The fourth signpost is at the mountain lake. You have to walk a bit, but you’ll get there eventually. If you follow this path, you can’t go wrong. There is no alternative route that takes you off course, so it is relatively easy to find.

Viewing location #5

The fifth location is just after meeting enemies that look a bit like yetis. They see two buildings in their area. One is the bar where you get the items for the quests. However, to reach the fifth point, you must go behind this building and follow the signs until you find the point above. Once you know where to look, everything becomes clear.

You won’t find the final location until you clear the fog at the top of the mountain. We won’t reveal why, but once you find the final location, it shouldn’t be too difficult. Just walk under the bridge that leads to the old man’s house on the hill, then look for a sign on the hill.

When you have found this last point, you have reached the destination. Make sure you find them all before you head down the mountain to finish the game, because you can’t go back once the last fight is over.
