The home entertainment market was once dominated by big screen TV’s. Today, that is not the case, as people have moved away from them in favour of big screens for their entertainment devices. This is a trend that is not going to be changing any time soon, especially as 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) TVs are now on offer for less than $3,000.
The LG 32UC99 is a 32-inch 4K OLED display and the LG is a brand name for South Korea’s LG Corporation. The 32UC99 is a 4K OLED Display with an incredible native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It contains four LG Display IPS LED (In-Plane Switching) screens with a total resolution of 8192 x 4320 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 60Hz and a response time of 5ms.
Before we get to the nitty-gritty, I’d like to point out that I’m not against OLEDs. We live in a world of saturation, and I welcome the latest and greatest technologies. I’m all for OLED in TVs, for sure, but it’s not long since OLED was hailed as the future of displays for monitors. OLEDs have a few drawbacks, however: they are power-hungry, have low contrast ratios, and don’t work well in direct sunlight.

LG’s heavily anticipated UltraFine 32EP950-B OLED monitor has officially gone on sale according to multiple listings at popular retailers that include B&H Photo and Best Buy. The price tag might be a problem for many display enthusiasts, however.
LG’s UltraFine 32EP950-B costs $3,999 and $3,999.99 at B&H Photo and Best Buy, respectively. This is a relatively ridiculous cost considering the fact that users who are seeking the ultimate in visual quality could go so far as to purchase a 77-inch LG G1PUA OLED TV for just $300 more. The G1PUA is a 2021 premium OLED that boasts LG’s latest evo panel, which boasts a higher peak level of brightness.
LG’s UltraFine 32EP950-B, on the other hand, is one of the few genuine options for OLED enthusiasts with limited desk space and a requirement for a monitor with a modestly large screen. Users who desire an OLED display with DisplayPort may be interested in the UltraFine 32EP950-B; LG’s OLED TVs only have HDMI.
The LG UltraFine 32EP950-B monitor has a 31.5-inch OLED screen with a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution at 60 frames per second. Users may anticipate a 1 million:1 contrast ratio, perfect black levels, and less of the irritating issues associated with other panel technologies, such as backlight leakage and poor viewing angles, since this is an OLED device. The UltraFine 32EP950-B also covers the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color spectrums with 99 percent accuracy.

The first thing you notice about LG’s new 4K OLED monitor is how thin it is. At 0.8 inches, the 6.8mm-thick 32UD99 is the slimmest OLED panel ever. This makes it one of the thinnest LCD monitors ever, as well. And its thinness translates to a very attractive design. The monitor is housed in a frame that’s made out of brushed aluminum, which is then wrapped in a pale hue of silver (unless you get the rose gold version, which is made out of aluminum)..
