Dark Souls 3 is an action-packed game that requires players to battle against hordes of enemies and bosses. Defeating these opponents rewards the players with “souls”, which can be used for purchasing items, upgrading weapons and gaining access to new areas. It’s not easy to farm souls in Dark Souls 3, but with a bit of determination and endurance you can easily acquire a large amount of them. In this guide, we will discuss some of the best methods that you can use to farm souls in Dark Souls 3.
Farming Areas
Crown of the Ivory King and Grand Cathedral are considered two of the best areas for farming souls in Dark Souls 3. These two levels have enemies that respawn each time you return, so you can easily farm them for souls and upgrade your character quickly. Additionally, the enemy AI is relatively easy to defeat in the Crown of the Ivory King and Grand Cathedral, making it much easier to farm these areas and get more souls. Let’s take a closer look at each of these areas.
Catacombs of Carthus
The Catacombs of Carthus are home to a variety of farming areas, each named after monsters in the area. Farming locations vary depending on the difficulty you choose, but they all contain valuable materials and resources. A few examples include: -High Lord Wolnir’s Tomb: This farming spot requires players to have defeated Wolnir for entry, although it can also be accessed by progressing through the Catacombs of Carthus. This area is filled with Skeletons and can be great for farming titanite shards and chunks. -Ringed City Streets: When progressing through the Ringed City Streets, players come across a large area with many crystal lizards that have valuable titanite shards and other items. Killing them will respawn them in different spots throughout the area, so it is a good location to farm different items as it progresses further into the game. -Smouldering Lake: Another great spot for farming titanite shards is Smouldering Lake; situated at the lower left corner of this map, its Abyss Watchers are tough opponents that drop a lot of loot when killed or defeated in battle.
Farron Keep
Farron Keep is a farming area located in central Los Angeles. It is a collection of many small communities and cattle farms that sell to six major towns. Though the surrounding areas are historically agriculture centers, Farron Keep is the only area experiencing significant agricultural growth compared to the other five towns. It offers an incredibly diverse range of possible crops and a wide variety of wildlife supporting their growth. This wide variety helps to protect their current population from potential pests and disease attacks. Citizens of Farron Keep also benefit from better access to clean water sources that are centrally located with the six towns in mind. From improved irrigation systems allowing for well-distributed water supply, to significant investment in soil amendments which help neutralize acidity and retain moisture, farmers have found success in Faron Keep’s ideal climate conditions. With higher yields than the surrounding areas combined with its rich natural landscape, citizens here have developed long-term sustainable crop production practices. Various programs have been initiated by the local government offices to continue developing farming methods to maintain utmost sustainability and make sure each family can offer quality products for their consumers in an affordable way without negatively impacting their environment. This has enabled citizens of Farron Keep to capitalize on new opportunities as leaders in cultivating high-quality crops both domestically and around the world from this area located in central Los Angeles.
Smouldering Lake
Smouldering Lake is a dark and dank area filled with ashes and monsters located past the Cathedral of the Deep. It is home to the wooden bridge where an NPC called Lapp resides, as well as a Crystal Lizard that can be found in the lower level, far from where Lapp stands guard. A Crestholm Channel Scroll can also be found here. Smouldering Lake is notable for being one of the most efficient farming areas for souls in Dark Souls 3 due to its abundance of high-value enemies, many of which drop significant amounts of souls when defeated. These include: Fire-breathing wyrms that surround the lake; Desert Pyromancy Tombs, which spawn pyromancy-casting enemies; a Charred Loyce Knight that is accessible via a hidden elevator hidden near two Cemetery Watchers; giant Executioner’s Chariots; huge Bone Ash enemies near the entrance; and Gargoyles which spawn near a spot where more Torches appear randomly respawning Coffin Carriers can also be found here. In addition to these major sources of souls, it may also be worth looking for stray rats lying amid the wreckage or angling off pieces from broken bridges for extra substantial soul rewards. Farming Smouldering Lake will require you to defeat most, if not all enemies that can be found within its vicinity, so it may pay off if you are equipped with stronger gear first before attempting this area.
High Wall of Lothric
The High Wall of Lothric is usually the first area of Dark Souls 3 that the player visits and it provides ample opportunities to farm souls. On your first playthrough, start by killing all four Vengarl’s Followers. Each enemy drops 2400 souls and they respawn every time you arrive back in Lothric. After killing all four followers, proceed through Lothric Castle until you reach the Dragonslayer Armour as this will deactivate them from spawning in the High Wall again. If slaying Vengarl’s Followers isn’t enough for you, then there are still more opportunities to grab some easy souls from Highwall of Lothric. When facing the entryway to Lothric Castle across the roof of a tower, there will be two Hollow Soldiers located at the bottom level on a narrow walkway below you that have a steady supply of items and souls when killed. You can make your way back down without having to reload or rest in a bonfire quickly with an ever-present drop of nearly 1000 souls every time they are killed. Also located close by within Highwall is an NPC blacksmith named Andre who offers various services including forging weapons, infusing gemstones and enchanting items with magic – each one yielding plenty of souls when used. You can also buy spells or torches here if needed while farming even more easy souls while doing so!
Farming Strategies
Farming Souls in Dark Souls 3 can be a great way to earn better items and upgrade your character. Not only is farming Souls efficient, but it can also be quite a rewarding experience. In this article we will look at some of the best strategies you can use to farm Souls in Dark Souls 3.
Use the Bonfire Ascetic
The much-loved Bonfire Ascetic is one of the few farming strategies in Dark Souls 3. This ever useful item has been around since the series began and is still used heavily today. The Bonfire Ascetic allows you to reset progress in a specific area, creating a new set of enemies and giving you an easier time racking up souls quickly. Effectively, this gives you access to as many different enemy types as there are bonfires on the map. This can be especially useful for farming specific bosses or rarer enemies that drop items not usually found in the game world. Using a Bonfire Ascetic requires some preparation before trying to collect souls, however. You’ll want to make sure all your characters are fully equipped and have plenty of health-inducing items nearby or an active covenant that decreases enemy damage output such as the Mound Makers or Blades of The Darkmoon covenants. If possible, always try and equip yourself with protection against Poison and Bleed status effects, which many bosses can inflict on players who get too close for comfort! By using Bonfire Ascetics before farming tough souls and through careful preparation, players can earn solid amounts of souls without having to go toe-to-toe with powerful enemies too often. With some patience and forward planning, you’ll soon be terrorising bosses like it’s second nature!
Kill the Bosses Multiple Times
It may seem counter-intuitive, but killing the bosses multiple times is one of the most effective farming strategies in Dark Souls 3. You can gain thousands of souls each time you kill a boss, as well as loot drops such as weapon/armor upgrades or unique items that normally drop only once. Farming boss encounters can also be helpful if you’re looking to Grind new weapons/armor and level up fast, because they are often some of the toughest and most rewarding battles in the game. Remember, patience is key when farming in Dark Souls 3. Try not to rush through the fights — take your time, learn each boss’ strategies, and get comfortable with his patterns at lower difficulty settings before attempting to farm them for souls. Each area has several bonfire checkpoints which allow you to restock supplies like health and estus flasks before retrying a fight if you fail. Keep in mind that some bosses have multiple stages; more advanced players may choose to skip the early stages for faster rewards! You’ll also want to take advantage of special rewards for finishing certain game cycles (such as beating all bosses up until a certain point) — these large payouts offer amazing rewards that often outweigh any souls you would have gained by farming lower-level enemies or Bosses individually!
Use the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring
The Covetous Silver Serpent Ring is a powerful tool for farming souls in Dark Souls 3. By wearing it while exploring the game world, enemies will drop additional souls when they are defeated. This allows players to quickly accumulate souls and upgrade their equipment more quickly. The ring’s effect is stackable with other league-game mechanics, such as using the Cursed Greatsword of Artorias or +2 weapons to collect extra shards. In addition, by equipping the ring along with other pieces of gear that increase item discovery (such as the Paladin’s Ashes), it’s possible to significantly increase the number of souls obtained per enemy killed. Using this ring and other soul-boosting equipment can significantly reduce the time spent farming and provide players with a great way to progress through Dark Souls 3 more quickly. Join a Co-op Session
When it comes to farming souls in Dark Souls 3, one of the best things you can do is join a Co-op session. Co-op sessions allow you to work together with other players in order to complete difficult challenges and tasks. The benefit of joining a co-op session is that the amount of souls you receive for completing objectives or defeating enemies will be greatly multiplied compared to playing alone. As an example, if you were fighting a boss on your own which would normally grant 5,000 souls per defeat; joining a co-op session with two other players could easily grant 20,000 or more depending on how well they cooperate. Talk about soul farming made easy! In addition to receiving more souls by joining a co-op session, you also have the option of competing against each other to see who can collect the most souls during their run. This adds an extra layer of challenge and entertainment as players compete for that top spot. It’s no wonder why so many Dark Souls 3 veterans resort to this method again and again. So if you’re looking for an effective way to farm souls fast and have some fun while doing it – Co-op sessions are definitely worth looking into!
