The game features a loosely defined storyline that consists of a group of marines fighting against the invading Necris, a race of aliens.

- Users who are not connected to the internet are unable to access downloaded Add-ons. This isn’t how it’s supposed to work, and it’ll be changed in a future version.
- If you want to remove players from the lobby while playing local multiplayer, you must exit and re-enter the local multiplayer interface.
- In Scourge of Armagon, certain player mobility problems may arise during online co-op battles.
- In Scourge of Armagon, the Guardian death sound may be heard forever. If this happens, you have two options: save and load your progress or leave the game.
- When using ALT+TAB to exit Quake, players may find that they lose control of the cursor. Return to Quake and engage with the game to regain control if this happens.
