April 24, 2025

Minecraft is a game that can be played for countless hours to countless hours. So, we went out to find the best mods for the game and came up with the following list. We have mods for building, combat, mining, and more, so this mod list should have something for everyone. Enjoy!. Read more about best quality of life mods minecraft and let us know what you think.

Let’s be honest:

Despite its enormous popularity and critical praise, Minecraft isn’t a flawless game.

Yes, Minecraft is chock-full of enjoyable gaming mechanics and limitless possibilities. It does, however, have its share of faults.

Fortunately for us, many members of the Minecraft community have gone to great lengths to create modifications that fix these problems, enhancing the overall experience for both newcomers and veterans.

These modifications aim to enhance vanilla Minecraft by fixing problems while without completely rewriting the game or its mechanics.

So, in order to assist you in achieving a perfect Minecraft experience, I’ve prepared a list of some of the finest Quality-of-Life modifications available in the Minecraft community.

GraveStone Mod is number 20.

GraveStone Mod Minecraft Preview

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

To begin, we’ve selected a mod that exemplifies the term “Quality-of-Life” to a tee:

The GraveStone Mod is a mod for the game GraveStone.

When you die, a grave is created, which is a breakable block that returns all of the player’s goods to their proper inventory slots.

The days of losing your items in lava or having it all despawn are over with this mod.

Or the days when you had to re-sort your inventory after you died.

This mod is extremely useful, and it definitely makes the game simpler by eliminating one of the game’s major dangers. Those of you who want a more intense experience should avoid it.

NetherPortalFix nnnnnnnnnnnnnn

NetherPortalFix Mod in Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16 We’ve all been there: returning after a long journey in the Nether, finally getting to walk through our portal home, and then finding ourselves at another player’s base.

Due to the fact that locations in the Nether do not exactly correlate to coordinates in the Overworld, correctly linking Nether portals may be laborious and complicated.

NetherPortalFix comes very handy here.

When exiting the Nether, this mod guarantees that players will always return to the portal they came via (through the portal they arrived in).

KleeSlabs (nineteen)

KleeSlabs Mod in Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Mods that make minor modifications to the game that should be included in the vanilla version are a recurring theme on this list.

KleeSlabs is an example of such a mod.

Once piled together, it enables the player to shatter individual half slabs.

It isn’t the most groundbreaking mod, but it does make you question why it isn’t a standard feature in the game.

Isn’t that the ideal description of a fantastic Quality-of-Life mod?

17. Descriptions of Enchantments

Enchantment Descriptions Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.17

Enchanting in Minecraft has been around for almost a decade, having been introduced in 2011.

It has been built on for years as new objects and concepts have been introduced, resulting in a total of 40 distinct enchantments throughout the game.

I don’t know about you, but I often have to look up the impact of a certain enchantment on the internet (I still can never remember what Impaling does).

Enchantment Descriptions are very helpful in situations like these, which many of you are likely to encounter.

Enchantment Descriptions accomplishes just that: it adds tiny tooltips that explain what each enchantment does, saving us the trouble of having to go to the wiki.

16. Dynamic Environments

Dynamic Surroundings / Custom Minecraft Mod Preview

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Minecraft seems to be… adequate?

Don’t get me wrong: the music is amazing. In addition, the sound design is excellent.

Minecraft, on the other hand, isn’t known for its excellent sound design.

This is where Dynamic Surroundings enters the picture.

This enhances Minecraft’s visual and aural experience (it’s one of the best music/audio modifications out there).

Without altering the game’s fundamental principles, the patch adds audio and visual effects to make Minecraft look and sound better.

As a result, Dynamic Surroundings is a fun mod that definitely falls under the Quality-of-Life category.

15. Inventory Modifications

Inventory Tweaks Minecraft Mod

Take a Look At This Mod

The current version is 1.12.

Inventory Tweaks is a mod that adds a slew of minor but useful improvements to the inventory system.

It offers inventory and chest sorting buttons, as well as a number of shortcuts for moving things about, and automatically replaces held items when they break or run out (provided you have more in your inventory).

Despite its use, Inventory Tweaks has one major flaw that keeps it from reaching the top of the list:

It’s just for version 1.12 of the game (as of this writing).

Controlling 14

Controlling keybindings search Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Controlling is a pretty simple mod.

It’s so easy that you’ll wonder why Mojang hasn’t done it themselves.

In the Key-bindings menu, Controlling adds a search bar…

That’s all there is to it!

It’s short and sweet, and it’s extremely helpful.

Clumps, no. 13

Clumps Orb Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.17

Lag is one of the factors that may totally degrade a player’s quality of life.

Client-side or server-side latency may be very irritating for a player, perhaps rendering the game unusable entirely.

Mods, on the other hand, may once again save the day.

Clumps is one of these mods, and it’s intended to decrease latency for both individual players and servers.

Clumps combine XP orbs into a single big orb, decreasing the number of lag-causing entities in the game.

On big servers or for people with low-end technology, this may be quite useful.

Clumps also enables the player to gather all of the orbs at once, which saves time and reduces latency.

12. Mouse Modifications

Mouse Tweaks Minecraft Mod Preview

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Two of the most essential elements of Minecraft are crafting and inventory navigation.

Mouse Tweaks makes it simpler to accomplish both.

Mouse Tweaks adds to the list of mouse inputs available in the inventory and crafting menus. Mouse Tweaks allows the player to click and drag with both the right and left mouse buttons, enabling them to collect things of the same kind, transfer them rapidly between inventories, and divide them equally on the crafting grid, unlike vanilla Minecraft.

Mouse Tweaks isn’t exactly the biggest game-changing tweak ever.

However, it does make a small but useful change to the game.

Essentially, this is the definition of a QOL mod.

Swing Through the Grass, No. 11

Swing Through Grass Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

This mod’s name is as self-explanatory as they come:

You can swing across the grass with it. Who’d have guessed?

This mod, in particular, prohibits the player from destroying collision-less blocks like saplings, flowers, cobwebs, or the aforementioned grass when holding a weapon like an axe or sword.

This eliminates the vexing sensation of accidentally weeding your garden while attempting to kill a zombie!

Modifications to Timber

Timber Trees Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Timmmmmmmmmmmmber!

This handy mod enables you to chop away at the lowest block of a tree to tear it down completely.

This is very useful when attempting to get huge amounts of wood or participating in major deforestation, both of which are commonplace in Minecraft.

The greatest aspect of this mod is that it eliminates the need to build up and collect those annoying bits of leftover wood, which is a common irritation for Minecraft players.

And don’t worry if you’re concerned that this mod would make the game too easy.

To cut down a tree, you’ll still need the same amount of mining time and tool durability.

9. The Compass of Nature

Nature’s Compass Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

What amazing locations you’ll visit! (Of course, after you have the Nature’s Compass.)

The “Nature’s Compass” is added to the game with this helpful addon.

It’s a craftable item that lets the player find biomes and learn more about them.

Gone are the days when you had to spend hours looking for just one Jungle biome.

Simply use a vanilla compass, wood, and saplings to make the Nature’s Compass, and you’ll know precisely where to go.

8. Drawers for storage

Storage Drawers Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Let’s be honest: Minecraft has a storage issue.

The typical Minecraft player’s inventory is extremely crowded, with a broad variety of things arriving from seemingly infinite sources.

As a result, this update sets off a trend you’ll see across this list: more storage.

Storage Drawers, on the other hand, does not just add fancy-looking chests; rather, the aforementioned drawers function in a very different way than the typical Minecraft storage medium.

Storage Drawers have no user interface.

You communicate with them on the outside in order to satisfy your storage requirements.

Right-click to insert the object in your hand, and left-click to remove things that you need.

While this may seem counterintuitive or restricting at first, I’m confident you’ll discover that having access to stacks of your most-used resources is very convenient — not to mention beautiful!

7. Milestones

Waystones Preview / Minecraft Mod Screenshot

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

With the Waystones mod, players may travel between commonly frequented places with a single button press.

It is very beneficial.

This patch adds a new craftable block called a Waystone, which can connect to other Waystones to enable you to teleport between them.

Players may also make Warp Scrolls, which enable them to teleport back to a Waystone from anyplace.

For anyone concerned that these Waystones would make the game too easy, I’m certain that the costly crafting process and repeated XP cost to teleport will make them vanilla friendly.

AppleSkin is number six.

AppleSkin Food Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.17

The AppleSkin mod exemplifies the term “Quality-of-Life.”

AppleSkin is all on food, yet it doesn’t introduce any fancy new meals or force the player to eat more.

It really gives you something that is much more useful: Information.

This mod offers a variety of useful food-related information in the form of tooltips and graphics on your HUD, something vanilla Minecraft does not.

AppleSkin allows players to see how much hunger, saturation, and health restoration their meal can offer.

And once you have it, you won’t want to live without it.

Iron Chest, No. 5

Iron Chest Preview / Minecraft Mod

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Iron Chests is a fairly well-known mod among Minecraft players who have dabbled with modding.

Iron Chest is a nice and easy game:

Basically, it offers a variety of chests made from the game’s numerous minerals.

These chests, which range in material from Dirt to Diamond, provide much more capacity than standard Minecraft chests, with a maximum of 108 spaces, which is four times larger than the vanilla Minecraft chest.

4. Practical Backpacks

Useful Backpacks Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

I’ll be the first to confess that Shulker Boxes are my absolute favorite.

Carrying huge quantities of goods in Minecraft was a problem prior to their introduction.

They’re fantastic.

I’d be negligent if I didn’t point out their faults, however.

Having to set a physical barrier, then open it and rebreak it is, to put it mildly, inconvenient.

Useful Backpacks provide all of the storage advantages of Shulker Boxes without the bother. To access your supplies, just right-click them in your inventory.

This is without a doubt one of the finest inventory modifications to look into (along with the others in this list).

3. Itinerary

Journey Map Minimap Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

These three final entries on our list are among the most popular Minecraft mods of all time, and for good reason.

Let’s keep the party going with Journey Map, a mod that gives you a real-time mini map of the area around you as well as other helpful features like waypoints and death markers.

Players that install this mod will soon discover that a small map in Minecraft is something they’ve always desired, even if they weren’t aware of it.

Journey Maps is very useful for traversing your base or just gaining a feel of its size.

OptiFine is number two.

OptiFine QOL Mod Preview for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.17

OptiFine is one of the most well-known modifications in history.

And with good reason.

It adds a slew of performance-enhancing tweaks and choices to Minecraft, making the game’s settings much more adaptable. It’s the pinnacle of performance modifications, capable of tripling users’ FPS on a regular basis.

However, OptiFine may be very sophisticated. As a result, it may be intimidating for gamers who aren’t as tech-savvy.

However, even if no player input is provided, the patch may significantly enhance the game’s performance, making it useful.

If you can only download one mod from this list, make it OptiFine.

1. The Right Amount of Items

Just Enough Items (JEI) Mod for Minecraft

Take a Look At This Mod

Version number: 1.16

Finally, the holy grail of Quality-of-Life (and perhaps all) Minecraft modifications has arrived:

Just the Right Amount of Items

This is one of the most popular Minecraft modifications ever, giving players access to an easy-to-use catalog of every item and crafting recipe in the game, right in their inventory.

It’s very convenient to be able to put in a name or browse through a catalog to discover precisely how to make any thing.

Plus, for those die-hard modders out there, Just Enough Items is compatible with almost any mod imaginable — a trait that is unquestionably important.

You like playing Minecraft and you can’t wait for the next version to be released. But can you share it with your friends and family? If you do, you have to remember to change the version number to one that doesn’t have any pirated mods, or otherwise it will be taken down..
