The cover of NBA 2K22 has been revealed! The cover features two of the most exciting young players in the NBA, Luka Doncic and Candace Parker, and gives a glimpse into what could be a special year for the league in general.
NBA 2K22, the newest edition of the NBA 2K franchise, has revealed the cover of its new game. The cover stars are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, and Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks, who will be the featured players. This is the first time a female has been featured on an NBA 2K cover.

2K Sports has announced that one of the game’s rising stars, young Mavs guard Luka Doncic, will grace the cover of both the standard edition of NBA 2K22 and the cross-gen set.
It’s no surprise to those in the know, as the Slovenian superstar was a household name in his first three NBA seasons. During that time, he played in two All-Star tournaments, was a two-time member of the NBA’s first All-Star team, and made the playoffs twice (and was named the league’s MVP multiple times). He is also coming off a postseason in which he averaged over 35 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds per game.
Doncic commented on this great performance: Being on the world cover of NBA 2K22 is a special event for me. I am proud to represent my country on a special cover that pays homage to the colors of the Slovenian flag. NBA 2K22 75th Anniversary Edition Coverstar – Candace Parker
Additionally, 2K has announced that two-time WNBA MVP Candice Parker will appear in the 75th Anniversary Edition of the popular NBA video game.
Parker was one of the most enigmatic personalities in the WNBA, both on and off the court. Not only was she a two-time league MVP, but she was a 6-time All-Star, 6-time All-WNBA First Team, as well as WNBA Champion and WNBA Finals MVP. She is also a popular NBA host and analyst on TNT and NBA TV and is one of the most recognizable faces in sports.
This news marks the first time in the franchise’s history that a female athlete has appeared on the cover of a game. Candice Parker also spoke out about this amazing honor, saying the following:
NBA 2K coverage is such an important platform to inspire young players, and I wanted future WNBA stars to know that they too can become cover athletes. Representation is important, so this is a special moment of progress for the sport and the series. Being a part of this historic coverage is a testament to the growth and increasing popularity of the women’s game, and I am proud to be the first female athlete to become the face of NBA 2K.
It looks like the 75th anniversary edition of NBA 2K22 will highlight the careers of NBA greats like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant. We focus on how these three made the game what it is today.
