The biggest question on most players minds when they first start playing Warframe is “How do I melee?” Well, we’re about to give you a very simple step-by-step guide to melee in Warframe.

I notice a lot of folks that are confused about how modding works. As a result, this is an article to assist others grasp the whys and hows of melee modding.
These builds are focused on melees with a slash-based weapon, such as the Kronen Prime. Kronen Prime has a slash bias of 80%, doing 21.2 impact, 21.2 pierce, and 169.6 slash damage.
There will be a few modifications that are present in every build.
Primed Smites: Faction modifications double dip on status effects, making a single status impact have twice the effect. The smite mod, for example, doubles the first proc on a slash proc. They scale according to the hit that procs the dot, which includes the bane, on DoT (Damage over time). When the DoT dealt damage, it factored in the bane a second time, giving us a massive bonus.- Condition Overload: When used with a primer, Condition Overload boosts our damage output much more than any other damage mod in the game. Condition Overload increases melee damage by 80% for each condition category afflicting the victim. This works on an unlimited number of status effects.
- Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds are must-haves for any hybrid melee combination. Your crit and status chances increase as your combo multiplier increases. To see how it ramps up, look at the chart on the wiki.
Any piece of equipment intended to prepare opponents for a quick death is known as a primer. It includes firearms, sentinel weapons, and some pets such as panzers, which can rapidly apply a huge number of status affects on foes, such as the Kuva Nukor. The Kuva Nukor may cast the Microwave status effect, which causes the portion of the opponent struck to grow bigger. We receive a 240 (3*80) damage boost to our weapon with inherent radiation, microwave, and a progenitor bonus (ideally magnetic). However, through modding, we may add up to five distinct components, including virus (mods), heat (mods), radiation (innate), magnetic (progenitor boost), and microwave (which is hidden). This offers us a 400% damage boost, which is considerably more than Primed Pressure Point can provide. With this construct, you may generate 10 viral stacks in a matter of seconds.
This is an example of a hybrid combo count e spam melee weapon build. Faction modifications, condition overload, blood rush, and weeping wounds are all in there for a reason. Organ shatter and primed reach are self-explanatory, since they provide greater crit damage and range. Some weapons now attack at a faster rate than others. However, you should utilize Gladiator Might for greater damage (although a little more clumsy). Depending on how quick the melee’s attack speed is, this chart indicates what to use for the two additional slots that are available.
With only viral slash, Corpus has defenses that will take too long to utilize. Toxin is used in this instance to completely circumvent the shields. Toxin procs cause toxin damage, both in terms of raw damage and bypassing proc shields. Here’s a link to the build. However, it’s the same as the prior build. Use berserker fury if your attack speed is high, and primed fury if your attack speed is low.
Finally, we’ve arrived at our heavy assault setup. This build was made for a glaive, but it can also be used for regular melee weapons by swapping out volatile fast return (increases the explosion) and power throw (repeated throws) for primed reach and either berserker fury or primed fury. Because our combo multiplier impacts the damage of heavy strikes, we utilize corrupt charge on this. Just enough Corrupt Charge r2 to bring us to a 2x multiplier.
