In Borderlands 3, there are several side missions that are open to players who have completed their main story missions. These side missions give players additional loot, experience, and other rewards. These missions are available whether the player has completed their main story or not. However, after a certain amount of time has passed, the side missions will stop being accessible. How long this time-out period lasts depends on which side mission the player has completed. For example, if the player has finished the Free Little Sister mission, the side missions will be inaccessible for approximately 12 hours after they have completed it. If the player has completed the Seraph Vendor side mission, the side missions will be inaccessible for approximately 3 hours after they have completed it.
Previously in Borderlands 2, the side missions in Borderlands 2 were a mix of escapism, combat, and lore. But then in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the side missions seemed to be all combat and lore. However, in Borderlands 3, you’ll have a few more options in how to approach them. This Borderlands 3 Guide will give you the full story on everything there is to know about side missions, from where to find them to how to complete them.
You know what I hate about Borderlands 3? I hate that I can’t tell anyone about the side missions. Why? Because you can’t get the missions by opening the game’s menu. You can only get the missions by progressing in the game, unlike in Borderlands 2 which started you off with the side missions. There are some parts that you can get from opening the game… but most of them are hidden away in some dark corner of a map that you can’t get without actually doing the side missions.
The mission is to free the Trashman from a portable prison in Lectra City.
Recommended level: 13 years and older.
Enter Porta Prison
Talk to the Trashmouth team
You can find the Trashmouth team in the Capital Region. Take the stairs down.
Once you get here, you’ll see that they’re not really on the same page.
Kill the people who betrayed the Trashman.
Applying spray paint
Grab the spray paint next to the container.
Projection of graffiti
Go back to the Trashman and do graffiti in 6 places on the building next to it.
Destroy a dirty police bot
Immediately after applying the graffiti, a nasty police robot appears and claims you’ve committed a crime.
Kill the robot.
Remove the artificial intelligence chip from the dirty robot.
Install AI chip
Place the artificial intelligence chip behind the gate prison.
More robots from the corrupt police will appear. Secure the area.
Take away the septic tank next to the portable prison.
As a result, a waste robot cleans the water in the toilet. Destroy that robot too.
Take the artificial intelligence chip from the robot and install it in the gate prison.
The entire prison rises to the sky and reaches the meridian periphery.
Collecting illegal weapons
Go to the outskirts of Meridian to find Harbor Prison. You will see the vehicle depart as soon as you arrive at the designated location.
Destroy the vehicle and the Trashman will die along with it. Take an illegal weapon that is actually a rocket launcher.
The mission ends here.

You start playing Borderlands 3 and you hear the voice of the cell door closing, the doors locking, and then the familiar sound of the Porta Prison closing. The doors of the prison open, and a light blue-haired man with glasses walks out. His nametag says “Seneca” and he says, “Hey, is everyone here?” His voice is high pitched and is a little awkward, but you can tell that he is excited to see his friends. His face turns red when he sees you and says, “Oh, hello there, I’ve been looking all over for you.” You can’t help but smile.
The Porta Prison in Borderlands 3 is a unique side quest that you can do at the end of the game, and it marks the end of some major storylines as well. Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot to it, but you should probably know that! 🙂

I’m going to start off with what I think is the most obvious question: how the heck does Porta Prison start with the prison planet Porta? It’s an easy enough question, but it’s also something that most people probably haven’t even thought about. I, for one, didn’t think about it until I was working on this guide.
In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, we learn that the portal that moves you around the game world is actually the Porta, a portal that leads to the prison planet Porta. Most people probably don’t even know this, and most people don’t even think about it, so I thought I would go ahead and explain it all for you.
For those of you who didn’t get a chance to play Borderlands 3, Porta Prison acts as a side mission in the game. After you have defeated all of the enemies or completed the game on any difficulty, you will gain access to the courtyard of the prison. You will need to bring a Vault Hunter (or several) with you in order to enter it, as the area is filled with powerful enemies.
