The newest update to Warhammer: Vermintide has introduced a whole new range of status effects, giving you even more options to customize your hero, and therefore your play style. This guide will go through the new Status Effects and what they mean for your character.

One of the more prominent criticisms of Warhammer: Vermintide is that it’s a game that can be quite difficult to enjoy without a group of friends to play with. As such, Warhammer: Vermintide has received a limited amount of content in terms of Scoreboard categories. At the same time, there are a number of players out there who would like to see some of those categories added to the game.

Warhammer: Vermintide is the newest game to hit the Warhammer universe, and one of the biggest releases of 2017. This sequel to the 2015 hit Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide blends FPS tactical gameplay with fast paced drop-in, drop-out cooperative multiplayer. Players can choose from four different heroes, all with their own unique weapons and abilities. Players start the game in the rat-infested ruins of Skalitz, a city under siege from the ratmen known as the Skaven. Working together, players will have to outsmart and outmaneuver the Skaven, with the ultimate goal of destroying the city’s warp gates, thereby securing victory for the Empire.

warhammer 6 - New Scoreboard Categories

The present scoreboard is biased toward awarding “points” for kills and damage. Those functions presently account for 7 categories, whereas any additional functions are recorded in 4 categories (5 with the scoreboard mod). So, unless you’re playing a DPS-heavy game, it seems like you accomplished nothing for the whole round. Here are some ideas for items that I believe should be represented.

  • The damage taken metric is nice to have, but it doesn’t always convey the full picture. You might have a Zealot who exchanges many hits but never dies, and a wimpy ranged character with no additional health or curse resist who is one-shot by a Marauder many times each game. The Zealot may have taken more damage, but he was much less of a stumbling block for the squad.
  • Number of healing items consumed—this is somewhat linked to the previous category, thus it may be either one. If you’re causing a problem for your team by squandering heals, you should be represented. Also, if you use a med-kit on a teammate, it should show up on their stats rather than yours, so you aren’t “punished” for doing the right thing.
  • Stagger Value- This is something I’d want to have, but I’m not sure how to express it. Because the number of enemies staggered would include anything from slave rats to monsters, it would not be a very useful statistic. If you just count staggers against elites, you’ll miss out on certain opponents that are still worth staggering. Perhaps an algorithm that weights opponent stagger resistance and assigns a score depending on the amount of foes staggered and their resistance.
  • Assists- It’s infuriating to perform the most of the damage on a high-value target just to have someone swoop in and kill you. Assists are my solution; if you do 50% or more damage to an opponent but someone else kills them, you receive an assist instead.
  • First and foremost, I believe Friendly Fire should be on the scoreboard by default. However, I’d want to know how much of my “damage suffered” was caused by my colleagues. Of course, it was just to satisfy my own curiosity.
  • Fix Saves- The idea of this category appeals to me, but the implementation is lacking. In this game, you can only earn saves if you manage to liberate an ally from a disabler without killing the disabler. Even though it’s typically the most convenient choice, killing it directly does not give you a save. And, as I remember, it worked differently in VT1. You may rescue a teammate simply by killing or stuning an opponent who was about to attack them. I’d want to see this system reintroduced, along with saves for killing disablers who have taken control of your friends.

Obviously, this would make the present scoreboard very cluttered, but I believe it might benefit from some trimming.

  • Kills by Ranged/Melee- I’m not sure why there’s a need to further split kills like this. For each kill, it simply serves to award a player in a second or even third category. When you kill a special with a ranged weapon, your total kills, special kills, and ranged kills are all added together. That strikes me as a little absurd.
  • If you have a Shade, BH, or GK on your squad, this category is almost a given if a monster spawns. As far as I can tell, it only exists to allow those three professions to compete against one another if they are on the same team. Meanwhile, during a boss battle, if you’re restraining a horde and sniping specialties, none of that important effort is recognized in any manner. This category already excludes Lord damage, thus it’s already arbitrary.

This is an xpost from the Beta Forum, and it’s a repost from one of the sub’s more esoteric sub-threads. I’d love to hear your creative ideas for what we might replace the present scoreboard with if you believe it’s not up to par. Ideas that don’t need Fatshark gathering fresh raw data…

  • Concerns about the Vermintide 2 DLC

I’ve never played a Warhammer game before, so I opted to purchase Vermintide 2’s “Premium Edition” on PS4. During a broadcast, it was pointed out to me that I had one of the two DLCs, despite the fact that I’m not sure whether the premium edition came with one. I think I possess the DLC…

  • Vermintide 2 is a major issue.

Hello everyone, I realize this is a strange request, but please try to keep this topic ‘secret,’ okay? I’m not sure how to phrase it, but let’s keep this inside the vermintide community since you’re the only ones that could comprehend what I’m saying. Okay, now I’m going to ask my inquiry… Is anybody else planning on joining us on the skaven? At first, I was…
